Bully Prevention month

A story filled, high energy talk that reminds students why treating others with kindness, despite differences, matters.

Why Bully Prevention Month Matters.

I’ll never forget realizing how cruel people can be simply because you don’t look, sound, or act like them. It started back in preschool and followed me all the way into adulthood. Even while backpacking across the world just five years ago, I felt that same sting of sadness and insecurity I had first felt as a kid. I didn’t feel safe.

That’s why Bullying Prevention Month matters. It’s a time for every student (and every adult, because we know adults need this too!) to be reminded of the power of making others feel valued and seen.

There’s always a child in the room who connects with my story, and this month gives us the chance to create space for them while encouraging everyone else to choose kindness. 💙

Is your school creating a safe environment?

“Bullying can result in physical injury, social and emotional distress, self-harm, and even death. It also increases the risk for depression, anxiety, sleep difficulties, lower academic achievement, and dropping out of school.” (Centers for Disease Control and Prevent, 2025)

Rashad also offers small group settings where students share their experiences around bullying and administrators are invited to listen, creating powerful opportunities for understanding and action.

  • "I had the pleasure of working with Rashad Cohen for our 2024 Red Ribbon Week student assemblies. He delivered a powerful, engaging program that truly resonated with our students. What stood out most was his willingness to connect on a personal level—after the assembly, he stayed to answer questions, offer encouragement, and even joined our PTSA sponsored lunch celebration.”
